Chops with Savory Mushroom Gravy

2 ½ TBS Margarine

1/3 Cup sliced mushrooms

Sprinkle Garlic Granules

Sprinkle Black Pepper

1 TBS All purpose Flour

½ TSP Poultry Seasoning (sage, thyme, rosemary & marjoram powder)

Pinch clove powder (optional)

1 Freja’s Foods  sauce packet

1/3 C. Vegetarian Broth (room temperature)

1 Pkg Freja’s Foods Seitan Chops

Preparation

We start with the gravy: Sauté mushrooms in ½ tbs margarine until fully cooked, about 4-5 min. sprinkle with garlic and pepper while cooking for added flavor. Set mushrooms aside. In a small saucepan over medium to low heat lightly brown flour in 1 Tbs margarine, stirring constantly.     Add poultry seasoning and clove powder, if using and cook for another 30 seconds. Reduce heat to simmer and whisk in sauce packet. Slowly pour in broth and whisk briskly until gravy thickens. For thinner gravy add a little water. Stir in mushrooms. Turn heat off, cover and set aside, stirring occasionally. For chops: In a medium fry pan, (we like a well seasoned cast iron) over medium heat- lightly fry chops until slightly golden on both sides-overcooking will dry chops out. If desired, sprinkle chops with garlic, pepper and cloves while frying for an extra flavor boost. Top each chop with gravy and serve with your favorite side dishes. Enjoy!
